Inter Milan sports director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed the reason behind the club’s decision to pull out of negotiations for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman.
The Nerazzurri agreed a five-year contract with Lookman, but had their €45m offer rejected by Atalanta.
Inter last week abandoned the move and shifted their attention to other targets.
Lookman, who submitted a transfer request to Atalanta and was also shunned for several days, now faces an uncertain future at the club.
Marotta opined La Dea have the right to hold on to their star player.
“There was talk of Lookman, but we found a club that had every right not to put him on the market, and rightly so,” he told TMW.
