Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Dele Momodu, on Thursday declared that there is no formidable actor from the North that can confront President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Momodu said the decision of the PDP to zone its presidential ticket to the South could hand Tinubu the advantage to win in 2027.
Speaking on News Central TV’s Breakfast Central, the former presidential candidate said Tinubu already has the South on lockdown.
Momodu said: “Tinubu has already locked down the South by taking out Delta, Akwa Ibom, disorganizing Rivers State – Fubara is neither here nor there, even if he comes back tomorrow, he would have to tow the line.
“The other states are being worked at so that they can grab them, if they have a choice Tinubu will not have any candidates contesting against him.
“And once you limit and restrict the presidential election to the South, there is no formidable actor from the North. It is as good as giving it to Asiwaju on a platter.
“The governors know what they are doing, those looking for a second term know what they are doing not to seen to be opposed to Asiwaju because this is state capture.
“When did Nigeria degenerate that people are afraid to speak truth to power? So just because our friend is the President today it means that all of us must become timid and nobody wants to talk.”
