Despite the publicity given to the Igbo Unification Movement, lUM, held in Asaba, it witnessed a flop as confirmed by the Delta State government.

Except for Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the Senate, all other lawmakers and government functionaries from Igbo-speaking states abandoned the event.

The event was aimed at fostering unity among the Igbo people regardless of geographical boundaries, traditional leaders, academics, and community stakeholders from across the Southeast and parts of the South-South.
