Morocco on Saturday defeated Madagascar to win the 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN, title.
The CHAN final ended 3-2 in favour of Morocco against Madagascar at the Moi International Sports Centre.
C. F. Manohantsoa had given Madagascar the lead in the 9th minute of the encounter.
But Youssef Mehri restored parity for the North Africans before Oussama Lamlaoui put Morocco in front before half-time.
In the second half, T. N. Rakotondraibe equalized for Madagascar, but a late goal from Lamlaoui ensured Morocco lifted the trophy.
The latest title was Morocco’s third CHAN in the last eight years.
The Atlas Lions won the tournament in 2018 and 2020, respectively, in the past.
