Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has returned to training after sustaining an injury during Tuesday’s league clash with Richards Bay, DAILY POST reports.

Nwabali was stretchered off the pitch in the 35th minute of the encounter casting doubt on his availability for Nigeria’s upcoming crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda, and South Africa.

The 29-year-old participated in a light session at the club’s training ground on Friday night.

Nwabali is expected to be in goal when Chippa United take on Orlando Pirates in a South Africa Premier League clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.

Nwabali was on Friday named in Nigeria’s final 23-man squad for the games with the Amavubi, and Bafana Bafana.

He is expected to join his teammates in camp in Uyo after his club engagement.
