The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has charged Nigerian youths to register and vote in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, stressing that God would to come down to elect leaders for the country.

Obi made this call in a post via his official X handle on Sunday, saying that young Nigerians have the responsibility of shaping the country’s future.

He emphasized that the voter’s card is the most powerful weapon against bad leadership.

“Yesterday, I joined thousands of young people at the National Youth Rally marking the 40th Anniversary of the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria, CYON, hosted by the Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka,” he wrote.

The politician further explained that the task of nation-building rests on the shoulders of the youths

He also said that to build a better Nigeria, the citizens must choose leaders with competence, capacity, compassion, and character.
