The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has condemned the recent local government elections in Rivers.

Featuring on ‘Sunrise Daily’, a programme on Channels Television on Monday, CUPP National Secretary, Peter Ameh, described the exercise as a pure act of state capture.

“It is clear that this is a state capture, but it is undermining our democratic process; it is insulting to our collective sensibility.

“I am already disappointed in Governor Fubara that he has shown that what he wants is to get back to office.

“I think he was beaten to surrender, and that is not good for our democracy, because all instrumentalities of the state were deployed against him,” Ameh said.
