Police recover stolen vehicles, arrest suspect in Yola

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested one Musa Suleh for allegedly stealing two vehicles.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday.

According to him, Suleh was apprehended by operatives of the Yola division at Jambutu motor park, Yola North LGA, following credible intelligence. The police said the suspect was found in possession of two Toyota Starlet cars suspected to be stolen.

“One of the vehicles, with registration number YLA-420, was confirmed to belong to Babawo Abubakar of Ngurore in Yola South LGA. The suspect confessed to stealing the car, which has since been recovered. Another green Toyota Starlet, bearing registration number JAL-861 CL, was also recovered from him, though Suleh could not produce documents or proof of ownership.” He revealed.

The state commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris has directed that the case should be transferred to the criminal investigation department (CID) to trace the source of the second vehicle.

The command assured that the suspect would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
