Several members of the Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigeria, on Wednesday, staged protests in Abuja over the non-payment for contracts executed for the federal government.

The protesters blocked the entrance to the Ministry of Finance during business hours on Wednesday, denying members of staff access to the building and their offices.

The Minister of Finance and his convoy who arrived during the protest, were also not allowed to enter the premises through the main gate.

The protesters displayed placards condemning the delay in payment and subsequent actions of the government.

The placards read, “you cannot grow the economy by starving its builders”, National Assembly is folding their arms watching Nigerian contractors suffer injustice”.

However, a few moments after the minister accessed his office using an alternative gate, the protesters insisted on him addressing them.
