The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed that 10 persons died in two separate road accidents on Wednesday along the Ozalla-Four Corner axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

DAILY POST reported that a trailer belonging to Dangote Group on Wednesday crushed an entire family at Four Corner Junction in Enugu State.

Police spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement, said the first crash occurred around 9 am when a Howo truck laden with bags of cement and marked Visco Investment Global collided with a Toyota Corolla attempting to overtake another vehicle.

A Foton bus and a Daihatsu Hijet minibus, both driving against traffic, were also involved.

According to him, the truck’s head and the Corolla went up in flames, killing all five occupants of the car, while one passenger in the minibus also died.

Ndukwe added that another accident occurred around 3 pm when a Sino truck belonging to Global Investment rammed into a tricycle while driving against traffic from Garriki, Enugu, to Nenwe in Aninri LGA.
