Brazilian international, Antony, has revealed that he rejected a late approach from Champions League club Bayern Munich before leaving Manchester United on a permanent transfer.

Recall that Antony left Man United permanently on transfer deadline day to join Real Betis.

Betis agreed a £21.65 million permanent deal with the Red Devils to secure the player’s signature.

Antony had spent the second half of last season on loan at the Spanish club after failing to secure a regular playing game-time under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.

The 25-year-old was unveiled in Spain on Tuesday as a Betis player.

“I spoke with Bayern, I don’t know if it [the salary offer] was €7 million, but I said I had Betis’ word and that it was 95% closed and that I would respect my word,” Antony told Cadena COPE.
