Police open inquiry into Abuja man’s alleged suicide

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Ik Ojo, who allegedly committed suicide in Abuja.

DAILY POST learnt that the lifeless body of Ik, a resident of the Kagini, Dei-Dei area of the FCT, was discovered hanging in his room on Friday.

Eyewitnesses, captured in a viral video, suspected foul play, insinuating that someone could have killed Ik and hung his body.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh, said an investigation into the matter has commenced.

She explained that after the command received the report on Friday, operatives from the Dei-Dei Division were deployed to the scene.

Josephine Adeh said they “evacuated the victim to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.”

According to her, the body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
“The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses,” she said.
