Hosts Les Aigles of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rivers United battled to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round fixture in Kinshasa on Saturday.

Rivers United put up a resolute display to earn a share of the spoils in the game.

Finidi George’s side will hope to make home advantage count when they host Les Aigles in the reverse fixture.

The second leg will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, next Sunday.

The winner will face either AC Léopards of Congo or Mozambique’s Black Bulls in the second round.

Nigeria’s other representative in the competition, Remo Stars, will host US Zilimadjou of Comoros at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, on Sunday.
