Victor Mbaoma has been ruled out of Remo Stars CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg tie against US Zilimadjou of Comoros.

Mbaoma failed to recover from the injury he sustained during the Sky Blue Stars’ Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL opening day clash with Rivers United.

The enterprising forward has resumed personal training ahead of his return to full fitness.

“Further to sustaining a rib injury after our league opener against Rivers United on 22nd August, subsequent assessments and specialist reviews with Victor, he is ruled out of our CAFCL preliminary round, the striker has however started personal training.” Remo Stars stated on Saturday.

Remo Stars will square up against US Zilimadjou at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta on Sunday.

The return leg will take place a week later.
