Gunmen abduct PRNigeria journalist en route media fellowship in Kwara

A journalist with PRNigeria, Salis Manaja, has been kidnapped by gunmen while travelling to Ilorin, the Kwara State capitalfor the annual PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship.

Manaja who works with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential — was reportedly abducted on Saturday while journeying from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State to Ilorin.

According to reports, his family has been contacted by the abductors, who have demanded a ransom, though the exact amount remains undisclosed. Efforts by his colleagues to reach him failed after his phone line became unreachable, said the Programme Lead, Muhammad Dahiru Lawal.

Details about the exact location of the abduction are still unclear. The PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship is an annual training programme held in Kano, Abuja, and Ilorin to build the skills of young journalists and media professionals.
