Police react to presence of unfamiliar people in Kwara community

Police operatives have been deployed to Danialu-Agbabiaka community in Ilorin, Kwara state capital following suspicious presence of unfamiliar people in the area.

‎DAILY POST reports that the action by the police authorities is on the heels of reports received from concerned residents of the area around Danialu Primary School and Agbabiaka area of Ilorin, where the presence of the unfamiliar people was noticed.

State police command, in a statement by the spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in Ilorin on Saturday, appreciated the vigilance of community members and commended their promptness in sharing such vital information.

Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, however, assured all residents that measures have been taken to verify the information.

“Police operatives have been deployed to the identified locations for discreet surveillance, intelligence gathering, and continuous patrols to ensure that no criminal activity or threat to public safety is allowed to take root in the area.

“Residents are advised to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear while continuing to support the police by providing timely and credible information through the command’s emergency contact lines or the nearest police station,” the statement added.

‎The command reiterated its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state.
