Kebbi community suffers fresh attack as bandits abduct farmers

Armed bandits have launched another attack on farmers in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, abducting several residents on Saturday afternoon.

This was reported in a post by security analyst Bakastine on his X handle, where he expressed fresh concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the area.

DAILY POST gathered that the attack occurred just days after a similar raid in the same community, which resulted in the abduction of 25 schoolgirls and the killing of the school’s vice principal.

The renewed assault has sparked outrage on social media, with residents questioning the continued escalation of violence despite the security presence in the state.

According to Bakastine, “This afternoon, armed bandits launched another attack on farmers in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, Danko-Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, abducting several farmers. The incident comes less than ten days after a previous raid in the community in which more than 40 people were abducted.”

Tension and fear are rising across the community, as residents continue to appeal for urgent government intervention, increased protection, and immediate humanitarian support.
