Panic broke out late Monday in Agbada Village, Nasarawa State, after residents fled an outdoor church crusade reportedly disrupted by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

A viral video from the scene showed worshippers scrambling for safety as the event descended into chaos. Though the footage captured confusion and people gesturing frantically, no weapons or direct acts of violence were visibly recorded.

Netizens speculate

The incident quickly fueled speculation, with many linking the disruption to Fulani herdsmen amid ongoing farmer–herder tensions across Nigeria’s Middle Belt, with others suspecting it to be linked with the notorious bandits.

However, security agencies and the Nasarawa State Government have yet to issue an official confirmation or provide details on the alleged attack.

Community members have since expressed concern over security vulnerabilities at night-time religious gatherings, especially in rural areas where swift emergency response is limited.
