At least 11 residents of Isapa, a community near Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, have been abducted in a fresh attack by gunmen, just 24 hours after worshippers previously kidnapped were released.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Monday, as an estimated 20 to 30 bandits stormed the community, firing sporadically and forcing residents to flee for safety. An elderly woman was reportedly hit by a stray bullet during the attack.

A community leader, speaking under anonymity, confirmed the abductions, saying seven of the victims are from the same household. “The victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children,” he said.

The abducted have been identified as Talatu Kabiru, 20; Magaji, 6; Kande, 5; Hadiza, 10; Mariam, 6; Saima, 5; Habibat, a housewife; Fatima Yusufu, a housewife; Sarah Sunday, 22, a pregnant woman; Lami Fidelis, 23, a nursing mother; and Haja Na Allah, a nursing mother.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen moved through sections of the town, leaving bullet holes in walls and doors. Expended AK-47 shells were later recovered at multiple points in the community after the attackers retreated with their captives.
