Renowned Nigerian cleric and prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has offered advice to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on tackling the persistent security challenges facing the nation.

Ayodele emphasized that the solution to insecurity must come from within, warning against reliance on external forces.

In a post on X, the cleric wrote, “A nation that desires peace must reorganize its security from the roots upward. I see clearly that relying only on one central structure will not bring the victory you seek over banditry and terrorism.”

Ayodele outlined a three-tiered security framework he believes could transform Nigeria’s security architecture.

He called for the establishment of Local Government Security Units composed of indigenes who are familiar with their communities, including the people, terrain, and local patterns of criminal activity.

He further recommended Regional Security Commands, which would be disciplined, centrally coordinated, and tasked with managing larger zones efficiently.

At the state level, he advised creating State-Level Security Bodies that are streamlined, empowered, and free from overlapping authorities that often hamper effective law enforcement.

“Do not depend on external forces; depend on the people who carry the land in their blood. Let those who understand the language of their environment protect it,” Ayodele stressed.

He argued that grassroots-driven security initiatives would bring peace faster and more sustainably than top-down approaches alone.

The cleric concluded that his counsel is not political but a call for the preservation of the nation, urging those in positions of authority to heed his advice to achieve lasting stability.
