Iguma shares his observation about bandits

Iguma also noted that the attackers appeared unusually emboldened, a sign he believes reflects the broader breakdown of security in many parts of Nigeria.

His appeal adds to the rising number of citizens calling for urgent government intervention to tackle kidnapping and violent crime nationwide.

“Nigeria has happened to me.. as I am speaking to you now, my uncle has been kidnapped in broad day light in Edo state. You see this insecurity, if it hasn’t come to your doorstep you won’t understand what’s going on in this country..we are totally surrounded. We reported the matter to police and they seem to be doing nothing. The last time we spoke to him, he could barely speak; they had beaten him so hard. They initially demanded 100 million, then later said 50 million Naira. And one thing I noticed about this bandits is that they are extremely bold. Then no dey fear,” he said in part.
