A young woman working in Egypt has shared her frustration after her brother rejected the ₦50,000 she sent to support his wife’s medical care, insisting he expected between ₦500,000 and ₦1 million simply because she is “abroad.”
The woman, the youngest of seven children, explained that her brother reached out urgently, asking for financial help to take his wife to the hospital. Despite her limited earnings, she sent what she could.

Brother demands higher amount
However, her brother dismissed the amount, assuming she had far more money because she is outside the country.
She revealed that she works in Cairo as a househelp, earns about ₦230,000 monthly, and sleeps in the kitchen of her employer’s home where her belongings are also kept.
Lady recounts financial struggles
She added that she recently finished repaying the debt owed to the person who sponsored her travel, leaving very little savings.
