The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has postponed the opening of its online portal for shortlisted candidates scheduled to participate in physical screening and document verification for the 2025 recruitment exercise.
The portal, which had initially been slated to open from Monday, 1 December to Wednesday, 3 December, will now be activated at a later date, the Board confirmed. The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Board’s Secretary, Major General (Rtd) A. M. Jibril, and shared on the Board’s official X account on Monday night.
According to the statement, the portal “will now be open as soon as possible,” although no specific date was provided. The CDCFIB advised all shortlisted candidates to check the official recruitment website for updates regularly.
Candidates are expected to monitor the portal via recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, where revised timelines and further instructions will be published in due course.
The Board apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and expressed appreciation for applicants’ patience and interest in the recruitment exercise. It added that additional announcements would be issued through the official website and verified social media channels.
The postponement comes after the Board successfully concluded the computer-based tests conducted last month. Following the CBTs, the CDCFIB had initially announced that the list of shortlisted candidates for physical screening and document verification would be released from 1 December.
The physical verification phase remains a critical component of the recruitment process. During this stage, applicants undergo identity confirmation, credential validation, and physical fitness assessment. Only candidates who meet the stipulated requirements will progress to the final stage of the selection process.
The 2025 recruitment exercise covers four key paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior: the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), the Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Successful applicants are expected to fill various operational and administrative roles across these services.
The postponement has generated anticipation among applicants, many of whom have taken to social media to seek clarity regarding the new schedule. However, the Board has urged candidates to rely solely on official channels to avoid misinformation.
