Abia South Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has frowned at adopting non-kinetic method to solving the ongoing security challenges confronting Nigeria.
Featuring in an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television, monitored by DAILY POST on Monday, Abaribe said the non-kinetic method is like asking the perpetrators of kidnapping to come back and do the worse.
The lawmaker elected under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was reacting to the deteriorating security in Nigeria and how to nip it in the bud.
“I think it was spontaneous and I was just angry, I mean what you would call righteous anger.
“The reason is that this was not the first time we have been hearing that there is a type of collusion between the security agencies.
“Villagers would say they told the security people and they would disappear but immediately after the bandits have struck, they would come back.
“The point really is how does the government operate this way? This sense that okay, let’s try pacification what they euphemically called non-kinetic
“This is nothing but paying someone just to enable him to come back tomorrow and even do the worst things.
“So, my anger stems from the fact that the Nigerian army has imposed peace internationally; it is hard to reconcile the fact that the same army is portrayed as being helpless,” he said.
