
President Bola Tinubu on Monday held closed-door talks with six governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the State House, Abuja.
Details of the meeting could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
The meeting was said to have ended without a public briefing from any of the six state executives.
DAILY POST reports that those in attendance were the governors of Jigawa, Umar Namadi; Edo, Monday Okpebholo; Ekiti, Biodun Oyebanji; Kogi, Usman Ododo; Sokoto, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto; and Kebbi, Nasir Idris.
The meeting is coming amid escalating insecurity in the country, with abduction of school children and worshipers across parts of the North-West and North-Central.
Recall that President Tinubu on November 26, declared a nationwide security emergency, ordering the army, police and intelligence services to immediately expand recruitment and deploy thousands of additional personnel.
