The Taraba State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mr Ella Aji Williams, has called on corps members posted to the state to serve as ambassadors of NYSC values in their host communities.
The call was made on Tuesday, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course, in Ardo-Kola local government council of the state.
Williams commended the corps members for their exemplary conduct during the orientation, noting their discipline, respect, and enthusiasm in camp activities, emphasising that the service year offers opportunities for both national development and personal growth.
He encouraged the corps members to actively engage in community development projects that address real challenges in areas such as education, health, the environment, agriculture, and community empowerment.
While appreciating the support of the Taraba State governor for the NYSC scheme, Williams advised the corps members to approach their host communities with humility, respect, and a readiness to serve.
“Taraba State is a land of diverse cultures, warm hospitality, and enormous potential. You are ambassadors of the NYSC, and your conduct will reflect the values of the Scheme,” he said.
He further urged corps members to prioritize security, avoid unnecessary risks, respect local laws and customs, and maintain open communication with the State NYSC management, employers, and colleagues.
“Your safety remains our utmost priority,” Williams added, urging them to make meaningful contributions and leave positive footprints wherever they go.
