The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area (LGA), Chidi Lloyd, has announced a N3 million reward aimed at tracking down the kidnappers of Rivers State University (RSU) students recently freed from abductors.

Following the manhunt, Rivers State Police Command on 4 December announced the release of the kidnapped victims.

In a statement issued on Monday, Lloyd said N2 million would be given to anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators, while an additional N1 million is reserved for whoever apprehends the suspects directly.

He cautioned students against flamboyant lifestyles and urged them to be mindful of the company they keep, warning that intelligence available to his office indicates questionable conduct by some individuals.

Those found culpable, he said, will face investigation.

The chairman also appealed to the university management to reconsider its decision to suspend academic activities at the Emohua campus, assuring that his administration is committed to safeguarding all students in the area.
