Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has inaugurated the 28.4-kilometre extension of the Ahoada-Omoku Dualised Road.
He assured citizens of his administration’s focus despite political challenges.
Speaking during the inauguration, Fubara stated that the project was a campaign promise to the people of Ahoada, extending the road previously started by his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to Omoku.
“We are here today to tell you that the promise made has been fulfilled,” the governor announced.

He added that the project will enhance economic activities in the region and help address issues of insecurity previously experienced along the route.
Before speaking about the challenges facing his administration, he noted that the decision to prioritise state success and avoid “continuous disunity” influenced his recent actions.
He reaffirmed that his administration is standing because of the support of President Bola Tinubu and fully committed to driving the Renewed Hope Initiative Agenda to every local government area in the state.
The governor addressed insinuations that he has refused to meet with members of the legislative house of Assembly, labelling the claim a pure lie.
He clarified that he personally holds no disagreement and anger anywhere with the State House of Assembly members and has made efforts to meet them, a fact he believes the leadership of the State’s Elders Council, led by Ferdinand Alabraba, can attest to.
Fubara explained that the arrangement was for his leader, Wike, to arrange the meeting, which, up till this hour, has not been fixed.

“I personally said whatever their needs are, I’m ready to meet them so that we can have peace in the state. Whoever is saying so doesn’t know it. I have met with our leader.
“I do not want to go behind them. It will look as if I am dividing the house. I have suffered from a single story,” the governor said, asserting his readiness to meet their demands for the sake of peace.
