The state chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have thrown their full weight behind the National Working Committee (NWC) headed by National Chairman Dr Tanimu Turaki, SAN, declaring their “solid and unanimous” support for the current leadership.

At a well-attended interactive meeting held on Wednesday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, 27 of the 36 state chairmen plus the FCT reaffirmed their loyalty to the Turaki-led NWC and pledged to work towards stability, unity, and electoral success.

He highlighted the leadership’s dedication to upholding the party’s constitution, strengthening structures at all levels, and ensuring congresses and internal processes remain transparent and constitutional.

The chairmen condemned actions or statements aimed at destabilising the PDP, stressing that cohesion is now more critical than ever for the party to serve as a credible opposition and viable alternative government.

They urged all stakeholders to shelve personal ambitions and rally behind the NWC, allowing it to concentrate on preparing the party for the next electoral cycle without undue interference.

“Our focus must remain on the Nigerian people,” Dr Aziegbemi emphasised, describing the PDP as a democratic institution whose organs must be allowed to function freely.
