‎AFCON 2025: CAF bans alcohol, weapons, drones

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a comprehensive list of items prohibited in all stadiums for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to begin on December 21 in Morocco.

‎In a statement published on CAF’s official website on Monday, the football body said the restrictions are part of measures to guarantee the safety and comfort of fans throughout the tournament

‎Supporters are advised to avoid bringing alcohol and illegal drugs, weapons, sharp objects, and flammable materials, fireworks and other pyrotechnics, glass bottles or containers, racist, violent, or discriminatory banners

‎Other items prohibited include: unauthorized political, religious, or commercial materials, drones and animals, large umbrellas and oversized hats, professional cameras and recording equipment, musical instruments, loud horns, and radio-emitting devices (excluding mobile phones), heavy or oversized bags

‎CAF also confirmed that all spectators will undergo security checks before entering stadiums. Fans are encouraged to comply with the guidelines to promote safety, maintain order, and ensure a smooth mooatch-day experience during AFCON 2025.
