A French labour court has ruled that Paris Saint-Germain must pay former forward Kylian Mbappé €60 million (£52.5 m) for unpaid wages and bonuses, bringing part of his extended legal dispute with the club to a close.
Mbappé had initially demanded €263 million (£231.5 m) from PSG when the case was brought before a Paris labour tribunal in November, while the Ligue 1 outfit had counter-claimed for €240 million (£211 m).
Now with Real Madrid, the 26-year-old French captain sought a nine-figure sum that included alleged unpaid salary and damages tied to a contractual disagreement and alleged mistreatment at PSG.
According to BBC News,The court found that PSG neglected to pay three months of Mbappé’s salary covering April to June 2024, along with an ethics bonus and a signing bonus stipulated in his contract, and awarded him €60 million accordingly.
“We are pleased with this decision. It reflects what should happen when wages are withheld,” Mbappé’s lawyer said in response to the outcome.
PSG had sought repayment for Mbappé’s failed €300 million move to Saudi club Al-Hilal in 2023, before he eventually joined Real Madrid on a free transfer the following summer.
This season with Real Madrid (2025-26), Mbappe has recorded 15 goals and 4 assists in La Liga so far, demonstrating his continued influence in front of goal.
