The Borno State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in the kidnapping case of two boys who were abducted in Jere Local Government Area of the state.
The police announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with the crime, which occurred earlier this month. The suspects were identified as Abubakar Hassan (19), Modu Aji (18), and Baba Goni Abatcha (18).
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the public relations officer of the command ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the suspects were arrested on December 13, 2025, following “credible intelligence and a forensic-led investigation.”
Daso recalled that the two kidnapped boys were successfully rescued on December 5, 2025, during a police operation in Jere LGA.
ASP Daso added that investigations are still ongoing, noting that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, commended the Divisional Police Officer of Jere Division and his team for their professionalism and dedication in handling the case.
He also urged members of the public to continue supporting the police by providing timely and credible information to aid crime prevention and detection across the state.
