Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed that the security of lives and property remains the top priority of his administration’s “OUR EASE” agenda.

During the third day of his statewide “Thank-You” tour on Wednesday, the governor assured residents of Ose, Owo, and Akure North Local Government Areas that banditry and criminal activities at border communities would be met with zero tolerance.

Addressing crowds across the three local governments, Aiyedatiwa revealed that the strategic establishment of an Amotekun Rangers camp and the deployment of specialized patrol teams have significantly curtailed boundary-related crimes.

This intervention, he noted, has restored the confidence of farmers and traders to return to their businesses without fear.

The governor emphasised that his administration has moved beyond rhetoric to actionable security governance.

“We will not leave you alone and allow something bad to happen to you,” Aiyedatiwa stated, noting that security agencies are on high alert to maintain the peace currently enjoyed across the state.

The governor’s “OUR EASE” policy thrust has facilitated the deployment of Amotekun Rangers, who have been specifically stationed to secure boundary lines and forest reserves.

It has also led to enhanced patrols, with joint security teams carrying out continuous surveillance across Ose, Owo, and Akure North.

In addition, the policy has strengthened rapid response capabilities by leveraging recent infrastructure upgrades within the Amotekun Corps to ensure swift intervention in emergency situations.

Addressing the long-standing traditional stool dispute in Ose Local Government, Aiyedatiwa insisted that the selection of a new Olufon of Ifon must strictly follow due process.

He made it clear that the state government would not impose a king on the people.

He urged the community to adhere to the official chieftaincy declaration of 1969, promising that once a candidate is properly selected by the town, he will immediately present the staff of office.

“The government is concerned about the delay, but we must ensure that the right procedures are followed to ensure lasting peace,” he added.

The governor explained that the 18-LGA tour was designed to bridge the gap between the government and the grassroots.

Unlike the quarterly stakeholders’ meetings in the state capital, Akure, which typically involve only a few dozen leaders per LGA, this tour allows for direct interaction with everyday citizens.

During the visits, several key promises and interventions were highlighted.

The governor pledged to rehabilitate the dilapidated roads in Ose Local Government Area to improve connectivity and ease movement.

With Christmas approaching, the administration announced the distribution of palliatives and festive gifts to residents and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cushion the impact of the season.

Aiyedatiwa also attributed the state’s improved financial capacity to the reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu.

He noted that the alignment with the Federal Government enabled the state to implement social interventions such as the provision of school shuttle buses, improved electricity supply, and support during emergencies.

In Akure North, where the governor was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, he thanked the people for their steadfast support of the APC and urged them to sustain this momentum toward the re-election of Tinubu in 2027.
