“Since morning we still dey road” – Lady cries out after being stuck in Abuja–Lokoja traffic

A Nigerian lady travelling from Abuja to Imo State has shared her frustrating road experience after getting stuck in a massive gridlock that lasted several hours.

In a video shared by a user identified as @celes_icmhomes on TikTok, the lady revealed that she left her house as early as 6am, yet remained on the road late into the night.

According to her, the heavy traffic occurred along Lokoja Road, where numerous cars and commercial buses were completely locked in place with little or no movement.

She shared the video at about 8pm on Saturday, December 20, 2025, showing a long stretch of vehicles filled with exhausted and stranded travellers.

In the video, she wrote:

“Who say nobody dey travel by road again? Abuja to Lokoja since morning still dey road. When I wan reach Imo State.”

When followers asked what caused the traffic, she responded in the comment section, saying, “Nottin cause this one o.”

The clip quickly went viral, sparking reactions filled with humour and concern. One user commented, “I still dey ask, na by force to travel?” while another joked, “Before una go reach, we don finish Xmas.”

Many others shared similar experiences, noting that road travel during festive periods has become increasingly unpredictable and exhausting.

With Christmas travel in full swing, the viral video has reignited conversations about security concerns on Nigerian roads, especially amid the rising cases of kidnappings and attacks along major highways.
