A man has sparked intense debate online after his friend shared details of his marital experience, raising questions about expectations, giving, and emotional reciprocity in relationships.
Man gives wife N400,000 before birthday
According to the post, the man gave his wife N400,000 three days before his birthday after realising she had never gifted him anything since they got married.
His friend said the man assumed his wife might have been financially constrained in the past and decided to give her money ahead of his birthday, hoping she would finally do something thoughtful.
However, when his birthday arrived, the wife reportedly did not give him any gift. When he asked her why, she told him she did not have money.
Upon further enquiry about the N400,000 he had given her days earlier, she reportedly said she had spent the entire amount.
The friend added that the man was not angry about the money itself. Instead, he was said to be deeply disappointed about the choice of partner he made.
