The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, prosecuted 125 cases of rape, vandalism, theft, murder/culpable homicide and other civil and criminal offenses between January and December 2025.
The Jigawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, stated this while speaking to journalists on the Command’s achievements and challenges in the outgoing year.
He stated that the Command has adopted proactive approach in crime prevention, leading to a reduction in criminal cases compared to 2024.
Ingawa added that during the year under review, the Command trained over 9,000 private guards involved in school security and the protection of other public and private facilities.
The Command also aborted more than 30 attempted acts of vandalism targeting power lines, water supply facilities, and other public infrastructure, resulting in numerous recoveries.
He, however, acknowledged the synergy and collaboration with Jigawa State Government, other sister security agencies, as well as support from the general public.
He reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring sustainable peace and stability across the state and Nigeria in general.
