President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at the media, this time threatening to report a journalist to the Federal Communications Commission.
The reporter in question is NBC News’ Kristen Welker, who reported that Trump’s endorsements of electoral candidates have yielded mixed results.
Trump’s call-out comes months after he walked out of an interview with Welker, where she questioned him about his 2020 election claims.
Trump doesn’t plan to let Welker get away with her comments about his endorsements, as seen in his threat to the NBC News journalist in a Truth Social post.
Welker recently said Trump has had mixed results with the slate of candidates he has endorsed in the primaries, prompting the president to respond with a scathing retort on his social media platform.
Trump called Welker a member of the “Fake Press,” along with a graph of his own creation that showed most of the candidates he has endorsed have won, as proof that the journalist was lying.
“How can anyone be allowed to say this, working for freely given Public Airwaves? Results are attached. Because of this purposeful inaccuracy, she will be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment,” he further remarked.

3Adding to his remarks, Trump further countered Welker’s comments with a claim that his endorsement is the strongest in the history of politics.
He also took aim at news outlets that have written unfavorable stories about him, saying that they are “going out of their way to harass, demean, and libel anything” he is involved in.
Concluding his response, Trump called individuals like Welker, along with media outlets, a “disgrace” and “threat” to the country, before urging FCC Chairman Brendan Carr to take action against them.

3Reacting to Trump’s comments, netizens in the comment section also added their voices to the president’s call for FCC Chairman Brendan Carr to punish news outlets that share “fake news.”
“Every one of those networks should have their licenses revoked, and the networks should have to pay a massive fine. They have lied, misinformed, doctored interviews, and knowingly covered up the truth for over a decade. The FCC chairman needs to actually do some work and start holding these networks accountable,” one Trump fan commented.
Meanwhile, some users particularly slammed Welker over her remarks about Trump’s endorsement record.
“Kristen Welker called the strongest endorsement record in politics mixed results. That is not analysis. That is a smear. She is using public airwaves to launder a lie. Report her. Brendan Carr should treat this as the coordinated harassment it is,” another individual said.
The President’s Feud With Welker Goes Back To Heated Interview
Trump hasn’t been a fan of Welker for a long time, and it seems to date back to an interview he had with the journalist in June.
At the time, Welker pushed hard on Trump over his repeated claims that his predecessor, Joe Biden, and the Democratic Party had falsified the 2020 election results to prevent him from winning.
Trump angrily called out Welker over her remarks before storming out of the interview.
“Your elections are crooked, and you’re crooked, and Meet the Press is crooked and so is ABC and CBS and CNN. You’re one-sided crooked networks,” Trump told the journalist. “Let’s call it quits.”
