A shocking revelation has emerged from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), as Pastor Folu Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, disclosed that one of the church’s pastors absconded with $8,000 intended for missionary work and later remarried in the United States.
Pastor Folu shared the story during a men’s conference organized by RCCG. In a now-viral video, she recounted how the incident unfolded, shedding light on a betrayal that left the church stunned.
According to her, the pastor in question, who hails from Ekiti State, had been assigned to lead a parish in Cape Town, South Africa. During a missionary visit to the city, Pastor Folu was scheduled to preach at his parish, only to discover that church services were being held in a restaurant.
In the middle of her ministration, a woman walked in and began removing chairs, abruptly ending the service an indication that the church was merely renting the space.
Disturbed by the state of the parish, a donation of $8,000 was made to support the acquisition of a permanent place of worship. The pastor later proposed using the money to buy a second-hand vehicle, which would be leased to a local tourism company, with the intention of using the income to fund the church’s property project.
Pastor E.A. Adeboye reportedly found the idea logical and approved the release of the funds. However, the pastor had other plans.
Rather than carry out the project, the pastor disappeared leaving his wife behind in South Africa, relocating to the United States, and eventually marrying another woman.
The revelation has sparked widespread reactions online, with many expressing shock and disappointment over the betrayal of trust and misuse of sacred funds.
