JUST IN: Tinubu to depart Abuja for Ogun on Sunday to honour late Oba Adetona

President Bola Tinubu will on Sunday, July 20, depart Abuja for Ogun State, the presidency has said.

The president will be visiting Ogun to participate in the eighth-day prayer ceremony for the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The traditional ruler died on Sunday, July 13, at the age of 91 and was laid to rest on Monday, July 14, in Ijebu-Ode.

Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to President Tinubu on information and strategy said he will visit Ogun alongside other dignitaries

Onanuga said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday to attend the eighth-day prayer ceremony for the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON.

“The President will join Governor Dapo Abiodun and other dignitaries at the event, which will be held at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode,” he said.

Recall that Tinubu also visited Kano State on Friday, July 18.

The president was in Kano to condole with the family of the late businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Danata.

In Kano State, he was greeted by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote who is a nephew of the late Dantata; the Kano State governor and other key individuals in the state.
