A Nigerian mother has publicly accused a pastor of taking her newborn’s placenta an act she believes is linked to the child’s inability to speak or function properly since birth.
In a video circulating on TikTok, shared by user @tboss8167, the woman recounted her emotional story during a call-in session on a radio show.
She revealed that during her pregnancy, she experienced constant illness and was advised to seek spiritual help from a church led by a woman known as “Iya Michael.” Upon arriving, she was given a white cloth and special soap to bathe with. Miraculously, her health improved within two days.
“When I was pregnant, I went through a lot. I was always sick, and they told me the only solution was at Iya Michael’s church. When I got there, they gave me white cloth and soap to bathe with. After using it, I became well within two days,” she said.
According to her, she delivered her baby at a mission house affiliated with the church. However, the experience soon turned bizarre. She claimed that the woman who helped deliver the baby refused to return the child’s clothing, insisting it had to remain on the church altar because she registered the birth there.
The mother explained that after giving birth around 4 a.m., the baby’s placenta was handed over to her husband, who intended to bury it traditionally. However, the pastor reportedly stopped him and insisted it must be buried within the church compound, as was customary for births conducted at the church.
Since then, the child has allegedly been unable to speak or carry out normal physical activities. The distraught mother believes this is no coincidence, blaming the church and the pastor’s alleged spiritual practices for her child’s condition.
