JUST IN: Tinubu confers national honours, hands $100,000 cash gift to Super Falcons players

Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu has conferred the National Honours of Officer of the Order of the Niger on all team members of the Super Falcons.

The honour was handed to the 24 players by the presisent following the team’s win at the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations which took place at Rabat, Morocco.

The team led by their captain Rasheedat Ajibade won the championship for the 10th time against their Moroccan counterpart on Sunday, July 27.

Olusegun Dada, the special assistant to the president on social media in a post on X said each of the 24 players will also receive a cash gift of $100,000 and a three-bedroom apartment in the Renewed Hope Estate.

In addition, each of the technical team members will also receive a cash gift of $50,000 from the presisent.

Dada wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confers National Honours of Officer of Order of Niger and 3-bedroom apartments each and a cash award of $100,000 each to the 24 players and $50,000 each technical team for all the members of the Technical Committee.”
