President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a one-year extension of tenure for the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR.

Adeniyi, whose term was initially set to expire on August 31, 2025, will now remain in office for an additional year, the Presidency announced on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the extension is aimed at allowing the Customs boss to consolidate key reforms and complete major initiatives of the current administration.
