What was meant to be a moment of pure joy for media personality Toke Makinwa quickly turned into a mini social media drama after a troll questioned the authenticity of her pregnancy.
Recall that Toke just dropped an emotional maternity video clip, showing her cradling her baby bump in a dreamy, cinematic shoot while announcing she is expecting her first child.
Fans and celebrities flooded the comments with congratulatory messages until one Instagram user, @ninistrends, decided to stir controversy.
“Why do I feel it’s artificial and low-key a surrogate, but however tf I’m feeling congratulations to her,” the user wrote.

The remark immediately caught the attention of actress Toyin Abraham, who didn’t mince words in her fiery response:
“Some of you will suffer from your generation till your last generation. Ègún ò ní kúrò lórí ẹ, àbàshà yámayàma”, she blasted in Yoruba, essentially cursing the commenter for their insensitivity.

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage also stepped in, taking a calmer but equally firm approach:
“You should probably delete your comment. Please just delete,” she advised. See screenshot of their conversation below:
Toke’s pregnancy reveal had been nothing short of heartfelt. The media personality shared how it’s a declaration of God’s timing, answered prayers, and a long-awaited personal blessing.
She told fans she was over the moon about becoming a mother.

In a breathtaking maternity video, the 40-year-old looked radiant in a sheer floral gown with a flowing yellow flap, cradling her baby bump and smiling from ear to ear.
Toke accompanied the pictures with a deeply personal testimony, calling this “the biggest project of my life” and “the highest calling ever.”
Expressing excitement for her journey into motherhood, Toke wrote directly to her unborn child that she cannot wait for them to meet.
