The Umbrella Socio-Cultural Okpe Ethnic Nationality, the Okpe Union (Worldwide), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to, as a matter of importance, review the situation of the “Sapele Sea Port,” which, according to them, is the only freshwater natural harbour in Nigeria with huge developmental potentials in the Nigerian maritime sector.

The National Executive Council of Okpe Union (Worldwide), led by Prof. Igho Natufe, made the call at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel in Warri.

They said the roads, which are in deplorable condition, have wreaked untold hardship on the economy of the Okpe Kingdom and Delta State.

“We call on the Federal Government to expedite action in fixing the failed portions and propel the companies handling the contracts to accelerate the reconstruction projects,” Natufe said.
