Tinubu Appoints Odion, Rabiu As FCCPC Executive Commissioners

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new Executive Commissioners for the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

This comes after he forwarded the names of Louis Odion and Ummusalma Isiyaku Rabiu to the Senate for confirmation.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed the nominations in a statement posted on 𝕏 on Wednesday.

According to the announcement, Odion is to serve as Executive Commissioner, Operations. At the same time, Rabiu will take the position of Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services, in line with provisions of the FCCPC Act, 2018.

Odion, from Edo State, is a veteran journalist and a former Senior Technical Assistant to the Media of the ex-Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo. He also served as Commissioner for Information in Edo State.

He holds two Master’s degrees, one in Modern War Studies from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom, and another in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.

Rabiu, 35, hails from Kano State and is the founder of the Usir Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering underprivileged individuals and communities through education, skills development, and humanitarian projects.

A grassroots politician and community advocate, Rabiu is widely recognised for her push for inclusive governance and for championing the participation of youth and women in politics. She holds a degree in Business Administration.
