Abia State Universal Education Basic Education Board, ASUBEB has put on hold its plans to recruit security men for all Primary and Junior Secondary schools in the state.

The new development is coming just one week after ASUBEB announced plans to engage security personnel aged between 20- 65 years to guard the schools.

The previous announcement had explained that the security men when recruited, would protect Abia school children from harm and also protect schools from encroachment and vandalization.

However, a fresh press statement made available to DAILY POST on Friday by the ASUBEB, said the recruitment exercise has” been temporarily put on hold due to technical and administrative adjustments “.

The statement signed by Dr Uzomaka Amah-Mbah, the Board Secretary of ASUBEB on behalf of the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, apologized to all the applicants and other stakeholders for the inconvenience the suspension caused them.
