Stephen Manyo is expected to miss the home-based Super Eagles’ clash with Congo at the 2024 African Nations Championship due to injury, DAILY POST reports.

The Rivers United defender, according to the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, sustained a shoulder injury during training.

Manyo made his first appearance for Nigeria at the ongoing CHAN 2024 finals against Sudan on Tuesday, coming on for Leonard Ngenege after the break.

Meanwhile, first-choice goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena is yet to fully recover from the knee injury that ruled him out of Nigeria’s previous matches.

Éric Chelle’s side will face Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, next Tuesday.

They have already been eliminated from the competition after losing their opening two games to Senegal and Sudan.
