Doctors at the General Hospital in Bama, Borno State, have successfully reattached the genitals of a man who attempted to take his own life.

The man, identified as 50-year-old Modu Isa from Hausari Ward in Bama, reportedly stabbed himself three times in the stomach before cutting off his genitals.

The incident was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Saturday.

According to Makama, medical personnel at the hospital carried out an emergency procedure to save the man’s life and reattached his genitals.

Hospital sources confirmed that Isa is now in stable condition and responding to treatment.

Security operatives later transferred the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Maiduguri for further investigation.

Recall that on Friday evening in Hausari Ward, community members raised the alarm and rushed to Isa’s aid after he reportedly harmed himself. The incident was said to have followed the refusal of his former wife, Bayanxe Modu from Konduga, to return to his home after he had divorced her three times.
