Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has claimed that former president, Goodluck Jonathan, is not interested in contesting the 2027 presidential election.

DAILY POST reports that there has been speculation about the former president’s possible comeback in 2027.

Reports had suggested that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have been mounting pressure on Jonathan to contest the election against President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027.

The former president has kept mum on the matter, fueling more rumours that he has accepted to run for the number one seat again.

However, Deji, in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, said the chapter is closed, stating that Jonathan is not interested.

He wrote, “GEJ is not interested in running for president in 2027. That chapter is closed. Anything you hear about GEJ is a distraction.”
