Arsenal were unable to meet the 12:00 pm deadline on Friday to register Eberechi Eze with the Premier League.

That means Eze will not be eligible to face Leeds United on Saturday.

The 27-year-old will however be available for Mikel Arteta when they travel to Liverpool on August 31.

The Gunners hijacked Tottenham’s move for Eze on Wednesday, matching their £67.5 million offer to Crystal Palace.

The midfielder was then omitted for Palace’s Europa Conference League playoff against Fredrikstad on Thursday night.

Eze spent all of Friday at Arsenal’s Colney Training Centre, undergoing his medicals and signing a five-year contract.

But Arsenal fans will have to wait one more week before they see him play.

Eze could however be unveiled to the home crowd before the Leeds clash.
